Company Profile

History
February 13th 1932
Napoleon Lépine was a sales clerk for several years before deciding to take the reigns of his own destiny by acquiring his boss's business.
On February 13th 1932, Napoleon (better known as "Paul") set out on an adventure that grew with each succeeding generation. Paul's Men's Wear inc. was initially located at 4913, Street Notre-Dame East in Montreal. It was just across the street from the old Vickers, in a neighborhood teaming with energy and workers from every sector.
Napoleon was a businessman that knew what his customers wanted, and he proved that he was more than capable of responding to the needs and expectations of his worker customers by specializing in work clothing and footwear. The secret to his success hinged upon his ability to change and adapt to customer demands.

1950s
Napoleon ("Paul") Lépine successfully built up his business on a firm foundation of sound management before passing the reins over to his sons (Jean-Claude, Clément and Fernand) in 1952. A highly qualified staff enabled the company to pursue its commitment to quality.

1970s
The company sports a modern image by franchising its name and becoming Vêtements Paul inc. in 1972.
The building is expropriated for the construction of a highway. A new, 10,000 sq. ft. building is inaugurated in 1974 at 4720, Street Ste-Catherine East in Montreal.
1990s
The third generation takes over. Jean Lépine, Jean-Claude's son, commits to preserving the company's tradition.
New services are added: embroidery, silk-screening and dressmaking.
